Savvy Spotlight: Q&A with Managing Director Lisa Campbell

Posted almost 4 years ago by S.A.M.

Q & A with Lisa Campbell

Lisa Campbell, Managing Director
Location/s: Singapore & Hong Kong

Why did you join Savvy and when?
Lisa: I joined Savvy in 2012 after being introduced to the company through a mutual friend. I was immediately impressed by the way Savvy was positioning itself as a different type of recruitment consultancy and loved the idea of partnering with candidates & clients, rather than just selling. I had been working for a IT Recruitment Consultancy where I was working on overseas positions, so I was desperate to get out there and meet candidates & clients face to face.

What do you love most about recruiting within the Creative Industry?
Our industry is full of diverse, interesting, exciting and hugely inspiring characters. On a daily basis we get to meet people who are shaping the way we look at the world, and not a lot of people can say that about their jobs.

What do YOU consider a challenge?
Introducing wildcards to clients! I have always enjoyed finding my clients candidates who might not be the ‘obvious choice’ and seeing them become key employees within their business. The best part of our role as Consultants is getting to know our clients & candidates so well that we can really help them make choices, that they may never have considered without our involvement.

What are your Top 3 Tips for working in Singapore?
Participate in the office banter
2) Enjoy food
3) Have a decent Spotify playlist

What's the most interesting thing that’s happened whilst you’ve been at Savvy?
Lisa: This is a hard one as there have been MANY interesting occurrences since being at Savvy:

  • Hosting the Creative Leadership Breakfast (CLB) series in Singapore & Hong Kong.

  • Holding our Savvy company conference on a junk boat in Hong Kong.

  • Being invited to a clients STAG do and wedding!

  • Looking after a candidates puppy – in our office (never again...)

  • Having our very own Pub Quiz in Hong Kong!

  • Being given over 300 bottles of beer for our office X'mas party by a client.

  • Becoming Managing Director of Asia after starting off as a Consultant in 2012 :)

Lisa's motto to live by:
“If you don’t ask, you won’t get. Be bold, brave & kind”
(O.K., that’s kind of two mottos!)
