Job Description
SUPPORTING WOMEN IN BUSINESS: Rare opportunity for a Business Manager who thrives in a start-up, entrepreneurial environment to oversee all operations, business development & team development for a mission-led business in New York. Reporting into the Managing Director & CEO, you will be working closely with the global team to grow the overall business; this may include administrative support, talent acquisition and onboarding, liaison work, on-the-ground support in the US, market research, scouting for other strategic partnerships, leasing office and retail space.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee all operation functions of the New York office and team
- Drive business development and represent the company in the broader female entrepreneurship and empowerment community offline and online, including social media
- Implement merchandising, product assortment and buying strategy
- Identify & onboard new partners
- Deliver against monthly metric-driven targets including that of revenue, gross margin, number of merchants, products, etc.
- Set reporting and analysis standards and provide regular updates of KPIs
- Work closely with other members of the teams and the group to grow the overall business; this may include administrative support, talent acquisition and onboarding, liaison work, on-the-ground support in the US, market research, scouting for other strategic partnerships, leasing office and retail space
- Proactively communicate progress with the team via formal and informal channels
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management, Marketing or other relevant liberal arts.
- 5+ years experience managing business functional teams in which a minimum of 2+ years in Merchandising / Retail / eCommerce
- Experience in delivering against strategy and pre-set KPIs
- Proven organisational and leadership skills
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Familiarity with all business functions including HR, finance, supply chain and IT
