Excellent opportunity for a seasoned Human Resources professional who is seeking flexible working hours to join a renowned, International Interior Design firm in their NYC studio. Working closely with the Founders & leadership team, you will manage and provide guidance on all employee relations, staffing, compliance, performance management and professional development initiatives for both their NYC and LA offices.
Responsibilities:
- Counsel leadership team on human resources issues, providing insight and options compliant with legislation and consistent with the firm’s philosophies, policies and culture
- Facilitate and manage all training touching on HR issues, employment law and best practices
- Investigate, document and resolve employee relations issues
- Oversee all workforce planning, recruiting, onboarding and termination issues including new employee orientations, employee termination paperwork and exit interviews to determine reasons behind separation
- Cultivate and promote healthy staff relationships and confidence and establish the HR Manager as the go to person for HR information as well as for personal/work-related issues
- Develop and make recommendations to the employee appraisal process, and oversee all processes related to all performance reviews, including probationary and annual reviews
- Analyze employee compensation and other competitive industry data and provide recommendations to senior management
- Maintain clear concise documentation when dealing with sensitive issues
- Other duties and responsibilities as appropriate
Ideal Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources and 10+ years of experience; Architecture, Interiors or related design firm experience preferred
- Expert in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately
- Excellent organizational skills; attention to detail
- Ability to quickly learn systems, processes and procedures
- Strong initiative and solid judgment abilities/skills
- Team player with the ability to establish collaborative working relationships
- Self-motivated and capable of working under tight deadlines
