Job Description

International luxury interior design firm with offices in London, New York and LA is currently recruiting for a highly creative, innovative Interior Architect or Architectural Designer with 4+ years experience in high-end hospitality and residential projects to join their expanding NY Studio. You will be strong at interpreting the initial concept into information, have solid knowledge of interior detailing and construction administration including responding to RFI’s and commenting on Contractor Shop Drawings and Construction Documents produced by others. You will be comfortable working autonomously as well as closely with a team of skilled designers and technical architects. You are expected to be ‘hands-on’ in your approach whilst using your initiative to complete tasks with a calm natured response and an ability to task manage effectively. This is an excellent opportunity to work in an office that has a casual corporate culture with a collaborative team approach.

 

Requirements:

 

  • Bachelor of Interior and Architectural Design, a BSc in Interior Design or similar, with 4+ years’ post-graduate experience.
  • Proven experience in dealing with clients, contractors and other suppliers in a highly professional manner
  • Proven experience in creating and developing conceptual designs including the skill of using color and texture
  • Proven knowledge in preparing Detailed Design packages (schedules of works, lighting & power, pluming, schedules etc)
  • Proven experience to redline Construction Documents by others, coordination with the architect of record during the CD phase, work with the construction team and respond to shop drawings and RFI’s.
  • Proven experience in AutoCAD, Photoshop, 3D modelling software, Excel and other industry software packages would all be advantageous
  • Self-motivated but also a good team member who is able to work quickly and efficiently in an organized manner
  • Self-confident and able to cope with criticism of your work
  • Organized, and able to manage your time effectively, whilst mentoring junior team members
  • Excellent communication skills including verbal, written and visual
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • US national or have a current work visa for the US
