Job Description

Title: SE Asia Architect/Director

An International Architectural Design firm is looking for a Director to lead, strengthen and grow their presence and portfolio within South East Asia. This firm consists of architects, masterplanners and interior designers. This is a fantastic opportunity for an Architect with Mixed-Use, Retail, Hospitality and Residential experience. The established Bangkok office consists of international and local designers at all levels, and the practice aims to strengthen team management in Bangkok as part of it’s long-term growth plans in South East Asia. The successful candidate must be able to operate independently, be exceptional at Business Development and client relationship management skills, and capable at calmly leading an office.  

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Provide strong and inspirational team leadership and creative direction
  • Ensure that individuals and the team are focused on achieving quality and delivering to targets
  • Lead the strategic development to win projects in SE Asia
  • Business Development and Client Relationship management
  • Active in marketing activities; lead generation and follow up; establish relationships with developers, agents, operators, contractors and consultants
  • Attend BD and network events – property seminars, etc.
  • Identify opportunities for new market sectors and contribute to a strategy for diversification
  • Lead presentations and design submissions for potential new projects
  • Be the principal point of contact with clients for fee negotiations and appointments, develop and secure the brief and scope of works
  • Take responsibility for programming work, managing resources, delivering work stages
  • Meet deadlines and ensure profit margins are achieved on projects



  • Minimum 10-15 years of international experience designing and delivering multi-million pound projects at Senior Architect, Associate or Director Level
  • Previous experience in Asia and familiarity with Thai culture and business protocols is highly desirable
  • Thai language skills an advantage; not mandatory
  • Personable, articulate, presentable and collaborative with a proven track record of developing strong client relationships and securing repeat business
