Job Description

Global architecture and interior design practice specializing in innovative commercial workplace environments is looking for a Studio Director to lead their San Francisco office. 

Your leadership will guide the team, clients and partners in winning and executing projects from concept through to completion. You are an out-of-the-box thinker with an exceptional knack for creating and delivering aw-inspiring ideas for corporate workplace clients. You are someone who loves a challenge, who does not turn away from getting your hands dirty to teach others, who is a natural-born story-teller that can win work and who is an instinctive leader, inspiring those who work with you. You will naturally excel in holistically looking at projects from various angles, working with designers, engineers and other project professionals to ensure an integrated final product.

Responsibilities and Requirements:

  • Responsible for the financial performance and growth of the business
  • Responsible to manage resources and make staffing decisions including hiring and promotions.
  • Responsible for the engagement of staff and recommends programs to facilitate improved engagement and able to foresee potential staff issues and control turnover.
  • Maintain /develop relationships with key clients for client satisfaction and business expansion.
  • Build new client relationships with key accounts 
  • Manage all aspects of client relations including attending meetings.
  • Make decisions and recommendations that have an important impact on business activities.
  • Ability to demonstrate creativity, foresight and mature judgment in anticipating and solving unprecedented problems.
  • Involved in the analysis of client problems in conceiving and developing architectural design solutions to those problems.
  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture required. Master's preferred. Architecture enrollment in NCARB IDP preferred. LEED accreditation a plus. 
  • 15+ years of architectural design and leadership experience
